Our day begins at D. Luis I Bridge. We start walking along the Ribeira, towards the Church of São Francisco, the famous so-called "golden church", the most representative Gothic temple of Porto. After that and to create a big contrast, we go straight to one of the most modern buildings in the city: Casa da Música. Projected to be an icon of a new identity of Porto, this construction is a high-tech concerts hall that houses some of the best events of the country.
Then, we begin to explore the gastronomic side of the city. The first experience is a very typical meal of this region but reinvented in a different shape. Our lunch takes place in a traditional market where you can find fresh food and a very good ambience for a perfect local lunch.
After lunch, we have a contemporary art experience waiting for us at the Serralves Museum. Here you can definitely take your time to walk around the garden and the exhibitions contemplating a perfect combination of art and nature. From here we go down the Boavista Avenue to the coast. We will visit a historical fortress and have a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean and the coast of Matosinhos (the best place to eat fresh fish if you feel like it later).
Now, what about a nice snack? The second gastronomic experience of the day takes place in a charming house that serves the best smoked ham sandwich in town, with a good glass of wine.
To finish our day nothing would be better than a visit to a wine cellar with a Port wine tasting included. At the end of our tour, we can drop you at your accommodation or at any other place in Porto that you prefer.
